Swedish Meatballs

Swedish meatballs recipe. Meatballs from Sweden served with lingonberry-jam, gravy and potatoes. Classic swedish and scandinavian recipe.

Serves four:

750 grams of minced meat (beef, pork or both)
1 Onion
2 teaspoons of mustard
1 dl Milk
1 Egg
2 dl double Cream

Bread Crumbs

Butter for frying

1. First, chop the onion, then put the milk in a bowl, and add the crumbs. Let it rest for about ten minutes, then add the chopped onion, the egg, mustard and the meat.

2. Mix the ingredients together and season with salt and pepper. Take some of the mixture and roll until you have a small meatball, keep doing this until all of the mixture is used. Finish with rolling the meatballs in breadcrumbs.

3. Melt butter in a pan, then fry the meatballs at medium temperature until golden brown. When ready, remove the meatballs from the pan, then add cream into the pan, also add blackpepper and some chickenstock for a nice creamy gravy or in swedish; gräddsås, graddsas.

4. Serve meatballs and the creamsauce together with mashed or boiled potatoes and if you are able, lingonberryjam. Enjoy!
